About the Tampa Bay Chalk Festival
Pinellas Diaspora Arts Project, (PDAP) is hosting the 3rd Tampa Bay Chalk Festival on the Deuces in St. Petersburg, Florida on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Pinellas Diaspora Arts Project, (PDAP) is hosting the 3rd Tampa Bay Chalk Festival on the Deuces in St. Petersburg, Florida on Saturday, May 3, 2025, with the theme “Our Watery Futures.”
The sidewalks of 22nd street between 7th Avenue South and 9th Avenue South on the historic Deuces will be transformed into a kaleidoscope of colorful squares as professionals, beginners, and everyone in between are invited to register to take part as artist or viewer.
PDAP board member and festival organizer, artist, and educator Debbie Yati Garrett, shared, “Celebrating our role in caring for our global climate, the festival captures a theme educating our community on how they can be environmentally conscious and proactive stewards of the Earth while also creating a space for the youth to engage in artistic expression.”
Attendees are encouraged to enjoy delicious offerings available at the businesses located along the Deuces corridor — including Lorene’s Fish & Crab House, Heavy’s Restaurant, Catalyst Restaurant, and Urban Drinkery, which will be available to accommodate hungry visitors that day.
The 3rd annual Tampa Bay Chalk Festival will be held on May 3, 2025; the schedule of events is as follows:
- 8:00 am – 10 am: Street and Sidewalk Preparation
- 10 am – Festival begins, artists, children’s activities, musical performances
- 12 pm – 1 pm: Environmental Panel at WADA, 515 22nd St S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712
- 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Festival breakdown and cleanup
